11/01/02 - Virgin Megastore Listening Station
Stimulant's new CD is now available at the Virgin Megastore in Boston, and is
featured in the in-store listening station. Tell your friends they
can check it out before they buy it at Virgin. You'll also be able
to catch our songs "You Decide" and "Vamp" on the CD sampler at the
upcoming Jerry Cantrell 11/5 show in Boston.

9/30/02 - CD at Newbury Comics
Stimulant's new CD will now be available at Newbury Comics in the following locations:
Boston, Harvard Square, Braintree, North Attleboro, Saugus. The CD will also soon be
available at the Virgin Megastore in Boston and will be on their listening stations.
Of course, the CD will always be available directly from the band via our Web site,
and at shows.

8/7/02 - New Bassist - Jeremy Alexander
and CD RELEASE!
Jeremy Alexander is joining Stimulant as the new bassist... no this is not a long
lost relative of vocalist Kris Alexander. Jeremy has played in many bands previously
and been part of the music scenes in Austin (not Boston) TX, and Los Angeles.
Stimulant will officially be releasing their first full length CD on
Fri Aug 30th at Copperfields in Boston... so mark your calendars!

4/2/02 - Show & New Bassist
Hey everyone! Stimulant will be playing a show next week at
O'Briens
in Allston. We also would like to announce that bassist, Pete Conrad,
has left the band. We would like to wish Pete the best on any future
endeavors. Playing bass next Tuesday night at O'Briens will be Greg
Horenian. Greg has been playing around Massachusetts in different
bands and projects, and can definitely lay down a hard rock groove.

1/18/02 - New Songs and Special Show Feb 16th
Happy New Year! We have just about wrapped up our first full length. Right now we have
samples
of Intoxication, Vamp, and Getting Closer on our music page... but not for long. We will be
replacing them with 3 new songs from the upcoming CD in a couple days... so stay tuned. Also, we
have special show coming up on Sat Feb 16th
in Boston, where we will be playing all the songs
from the upcoming CD and giving out some unmastered promo copies.

12/13/01 - Radioboston.com Holiday Show
Its holiday time again, and Stimulant will be taking over the airwaves at

09/21/01 - USA, New Music, and Rock N Sumo
How is everyone doing? We hope that everyone is doing well in light
of recent events. Its tragic and scary about the events unfolding
before our eyes. If as artists we can make even a small contribution
by providing music to continue to connect with people and inspire,
we are thankful. All of us in the band have been doing what we can
to offer support in different ways. Now is a time to connect with
others and to provide help and support in whatever ways each of us
best can... whether it be donating time, money, blood, or clothes.
Let's not lose sight of the best things in life.

06/15/01 - RECORD SHOWCASE - Mon Jul 30th !!!
Is everyone ready? We will be playing a record showcase on
Mon Jul 30th (actually playing at 7pm sharp!!!) at the Roxy in Boston .
The event has been put together by J.D. Furst of New Talent Productions and is sponsored
by WBCN and Power Bomb. A portion of the proceeds are going to the Boston Educational
Development Foundation for music programs at Boston Public Schools. If you want to come,

This event will probably sell out.

06/12/01 - Mixing New CD & Summers Shows
We have survived the many strange turn of events of the spring, and have been working on
dubs and mixing our new CD at SoundSmith. As of tonite, we are half-way through the songs,
and will have some MP3s posted soon... after a couple more tweaks. Its gonna be a good summer
full of Stimulant, with more shows and radio appearances in and around New England. Check our

04/27/01 - Jinxed in April and Shows in May
Well, April has certainly been an interesting month for Stimulant, as we faced strange
studio scheduling errors trying to finish our CD and a breakdown on our trip to play a show
in Philadelphia. The new CD is still in the works, and we should have it out by the beginning
of the summer. To sum up our trip to Philly, here's what happened.... we were on the road with
two cars of people and gear, the mini-van broke down in the Bronx in NYC, we got the car to a
garage and found out there was a problem with the transmission and it would need to stay a
couple days for repair, we tried to get a rental and every rental place had more reservations
than cars, so we unfortunately had to cancel the show.... our next problem was getting ourselves
and our gear out of the Bronx.... we put as much gear as possible in the other car with Chooch
and he drove back to Boston, while the rest of us headed into town and caught a 6 hour Amtrack
train back... what a trip.
In response to many requests to have more shows in the Boston area, we have a bunch of shows
coming up in the next month in
Somerville, Allston, Cambridge, and Boston. Hope to see you there!

06/12/00 - Stimulant Survives
We are pleased to say that we survived our short road tour and that no band members
were lost or maimed. Being on the road was a blast, and we were able to do
better than breaking even between door fees, selling CDs, and a sponsorship from
Bonk soda. Stimulant will be on RadioBoston.com
on June 13th, and broadcast live by RadioBoston.com
at the Lucky Dog on June 15th.

03/17/00 - CD Release Party & East Coast Tour
Stimulant will be hosting a CD Release party for "Underground" at Bills Bar on
Lansdowne Street in Boston on April 17th Marathon Monday (the Boston Marathon :)
The party will also officially kick-off an East Coast tour of the United States
that will run through June.

02/17/00 - Underground Charts #17 on CMJ, Jym on Drums, & Tower Records
Stimulant "Underground" was the #17 Top Add this week at CMJ.
Translation: Of the approximately 120 new CDs received this week
at college radio, Stimulant received the 17th strongest response.
We would like to give special thanks for David and Dan at Powderfinger
Promotions for helping make this happen. They have been incredible
supporters and good friends.
We are also pleased to announce that Jym Bagtaz has joined the
band as our permanent drummer. Jym is an outstanding drummer, and
previously played in the local Boston band, Uncool Niece.

02/08/00 - Underground SOLD OUT at...
It appears that Stimulant's first release, "Underground", has sold
out at both Amazon.com
and Newbury Comics in its first week. Both
stores are being restocked. Stimulant's sales rank at Amazon.com
went from 198,724 to
31,860 in less than a week... not bad for an independant band.

01/18/00 - Chooch on bass
Joining Stimulant on bass is Chooch, cousin to both Rob Zombie and Spider
of Powerman5000. Chooch brings years of experience in playing bass and
performing. In his last band, Southpaw, Chooch recorded and released
several ablums on the indie label Terra Luna. Chooch was endorsed with
Tobias basses in 1996 and is affiliated with ASCAP.
Chooch's style of bass-playing has always been about pushing the creative
envelope. His interest on chordal arrangements on the bass has led him to
develop a distinctive sound. "I want to show people how distinctive the
bass can sound" is his philosophy. Although he uses standard tuning you may
not believe it was a single bass you're listening to. Chooch
utilizes up to three capos on one bass to achieve his trademark style.
Add in a specialized version of "raking the strings" and you have the
"Chooch method". Chooch can play both melody or harmony while still holding
down the low end at the same time. Chooch has also been known to use two
basses at the same time! When you see and hear Chooch play you'll quickly
understand that he's not about chops, he's about creativity.

12/06/99 - Underground CDs off to manufacturer
Stimulant's Underground CDs are off at CD manufacturer. We finished the last
tweaks on Underground last week at the Sound Mirror with
Mark Donahue to create a master tape. Dante Ferrarini at
Rabid Iguana Audio/Visual worked with us to finish up the layouts and
artwork for the CD inserts and posters. Finally, we sent the master
tape and artwork off to Disc Makers
where we have received a-lot
of great help from Gus Compson and Carolyn Ballen. We would like
to thank Mark, Dante, Gus, and Carolyn for making this last series
of steps in releasing Underground a success.
We are expecting the first batch of CDs for Underground in early
January, and will announce an official release date shortly.

11/20/99 - Enter the Underground
Stimulant's first EP is almost complete and the album has been titled Underground.
The wait has been long but will be well worth it. This is a record that we are all
truly proud of. We were finally able achieve the sound we envisioned and it
kicks ass. Scott Riebling has outdone himself in the production of Underground,
and really emphasized all the best qualities of Stimulant.
In answer to many rumors, Stimulant is now just Kris Alexander
and Mark Bona. There were many challenges to overcome to get where we are today
and the traditional band thing wasn't working. We parted ways with Mike and Al
at the end of the summer and were sad that things didn't work out, but we believe
that it was all for the best. Being in a band is one of the most rewarding and
frustrating experiences we have ever had. We really weren't sure about whether or
not to call it quits. How could we keep going on with a band? As we thought about
it, we realized we didn't need a traditional band to do what we wanted to do. Many
artists today have just gone out and done it on their own, such as Trent Reznor
with nine inch nails, and Dave Grohl with Foo Fighters. We love what we are doing
and believe in it, so we decided to continue on our own. We will announce touring players
and maybe new band members at a later date.
Stimulant couldn't have recorded Underground
without the belief and support of some
of our friends. Scott was outstanding doing everthing from producing, engineering,
and filling in on bass. Without Scott's support Underground would never have
become a reality. Joe Marone did an incredible job of filling in on drums. Joe
stepped in and played with us like we had been playing together for years.
